Pier 94 Plays Host to Fashion Week & Bloomberg Events

Thousands of New Yorkers flocked to Pier 94, located on the Hudson River where 55th Street hits the West Side Highway, this week as the venue played host to two unique events.

On September 12, Alexander Wang unveiled his spring/summer 2010 collection at Pier 94. The opening runway dazzled visitors as a live drum corps kicked off the show. Both fashion and celebrities were on display at Pier 94 in an event that was well-received by attendees and New York Fashion Week.

On September 15, Mayor Bloomberg welcomed supporters to a political rally that was described by the New York Post as a “sprawling Hudson pier party.” Pier 94 demonstrated its flexibility as an event venue as a large stage was constructed and surrounded by four jumbotrons. With more than 5,000 in attendance, the event was enhanced both by the facility’s skyline views and its advantageous location in Midtown West.
